Getting ready for next craft show

I have been busy making some new items for an upcoming craft show. I have been having fun making little things that I think would make nice Mothers Day gifts. I have a couple of cute little pill boxes that would make a nice gift for Mom.

I have also been making soap like crazy. I need someone to package up 15 lbs of olive oil soap and a bunch of oatmeal soap. Packaging and labeling is my least favorite part of making things. I have 15 lbs of goats milk soap I am planning on making next. I do 15 lbs at a time because that is all the room I have on my drying racks. I have a lot of really lovely new scents for spring; fruity and florals. I had a hard time not going for the scents I like best which are woody, earthy, spicy scents. Jose calls them my "hippy head shop scents". I was a teen ager in the 70's and I grew up in the Pacific North West ; what does he expect from an old hippy :o).

Darn laptop

Ok my 6 month old laptop is in the shop again aaargggggggggggggggg. It is soooo making me crazy, I had it in 3 weeks ago and all seemed well for about 2 days and now I have a $1,300 doorstop till they figure out what the problemo is.
Meanwhile until it gets fixed I am going to be using the library computer. It is great that this service is available. I live about 30 miles from the library so I will only be able to come here every other day or so because gas cost just way to much. Meanwhile I am going through computer withdrawal.
Sales are picking up nicely in my shop and I hate to make people wait a day or so before I mail out their orders but for now it can't be helped. I have a good friend that is checking my shop throughout the day and she will let me know if someone purchases something so I can come here to the library and finish processing the order.
I always like to find the silver lining in every cloud and I guess the upside to this problem is that I won't be spending so much time on the computer so I will get more things made for the craft show I have coming up in 2 weeks and I might actually get some housework done[yikes].
Oh well .........

I have a treasury

The web site that hosts my shop has a section where members can make a gallery of 12 items that they admire from other shops. I have been doing 2 a week of these little galleries that last for 2 days each for a couple of weeks now. Here is the one I made today.

I really enjoy curating these treasuries because it involves a lot of window shopping which I enjoy. I have found such amazing talented people on Etsy that I know I will never run out of artists to feature. It is kind of fun coming up with themes and catchy titles for the treasury.

So if you have a few minutes and want to see some pretty things check out the link to my treasury. I am going to try to remember to post a link here every time I curate a new treasury.

Yummy new soaps

I made these olive oil soaps yesterday. I thought it would be nice to show them before and after cutting. I also made coordinating body frostings.

The scents are beautiful and my house smells so good.

The lavender colored loaf is Banyan fruit/Vetiver and is topped with rose petals. The smell of this soap is beautiful.

The 2 tone blue is Blue Sugar scent and is a very sexy scent.

The peach and green soap is a beautiful jasmine blend that makes me think of our trip to Mexico. When we were there the wild jasmine was blooming I would pick a few flowers every day and leave them in our car; the heat in the car would warm the flowers and perfume our car with the exotic scent. Amazing smell and memory.

These will go in my supply room to cure for a couple of weeks to get ready for my next craft show. Today I will be making several batches of spicy/ woodsy scents and I will cut them tomorrow.

I love the olive oil soap it is my favorite it is so creamy and rich it leaves my skin feeling wonderful.

Well I am off to get my mold ready and fire up my soap pot and get to work.

Thank you AOL for crashing my laptop!

I have been having problems with AOL since I got my laptop in July. It was really buggy and slow very frustrating. I blamed it on dial up and Vista.

So my computer crashed and I had to take it to Circuit City and let the Firedog guys look at it. I thought my laptop was a goner and I was bummed . I thought they were going to have to send it in for parts to be replaced. So after being in the shop for a week they went through everything and it was AOL that was causing the problems. So we wiped it off my computer and it runs great now.

I am thankful in a way that it happened because I had to switch ISP . With the new ISP I will be able to get off dial-up and go back to high speed because this company is building a tower less then a mile from my house. I hated giving up my DSL when we bought this house in the country. I started using Mozilla/ Firefox as my browser,OMG it is so much better then any browser I have used before; so Thank you AOL.
